MUCKDOGS ANNOUNCE MORE ROSTER MOVES
The Batavia Muckdogs are excited to announce the signing of another ten players to the 2024 roster this summer. Jason Cozzi (LHP, U-Mass Amherst, Fr.), Anthony Greco (1B/OF, The College of William & Mary, Fr.) Travis Hammond (OF/1B, Southern Wesleyan University, Jr.), Isidro Rosario (RHP, Stillman College, Jr.) Josh Livengood (RHP, Centre College, Jr.) Lucas Lopez (INF, St. Thomas University, Jr.), Reed Marcum (RHP, Lindsey Wilson College. Fr.), Sean Mindas (OF, Keystone College, So.), Troy “TJ” Morris (OF, Salisbury University, Fr.), Shaun Pope (OF/1B, Hendrix College, So,)
Jason Cozzi is a 6’3” left-handed pitcher from UMass Amherst. A native of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Cozzi is entering his first season with the Muckdogs. Cozzi was the team captain of his baseball team his senior year in high school. Cozzi was an all-area third team selection as a sophomore. This season he aims to be a contributing factor for the Muckdogs’ pitching staff.
Anthony Greco is a 5’11 first baseman and outfielder from the College of William & Mary. A native of Buffalo, New York, Greco is entering his first season as a member of the Muckdogs. In his first collegiate season, Greco had 29 hits in 103 at-bats, leading to a .282 batting average with 23 runs batted in. He brings power to the Muckdogs lineup as he also has 3 home runs this season.
Travis Hammond is a 6’ outfielder at Southern Wesleyan University. A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, he enters his first season with the Batavia Muckdogs. In two seasons at Southern Wesleyan, Hammond has a .265 batting average in 204 at-bats. In those 204 at-bats, he has 54 hits, with 21 runs batted in, and 31 runs scored. He is also a threat on the base path with 25 stolen bases.
Isidro Rosario is a 5’11 right-handed pitcher at Stillman College. A native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he is returning for his second season in Batavia. In 5.1 innings pitched this season, Rosario has a 3.38 earned run average and has held hitters to an impressive .130 batting average. He is looking to bring this to Batavia this summer.
Josh Livengood is a 6’5” right-handed pitcher from Centre College. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, he is entering his first season with the Muckdogs. In two seasons at Centre College, Livengood has 54.1 innings pitched with a 4.80 earned run average, while striking out 66 batters leading him to a 4-2 overall record. Batters hit .264 against him.
Lucas Lopez is a 5’9” infielder from St. Thomas University. A native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Lopez returns for his second season in Batavia. In 3 seasons at St. Thomas, Lopez has a .252 batting average in 242 at-bats. He has tallied 61 hits in his career, with 52 runs scored, and 35 runs batted in. This season, Lopez is looking to lead the Muckdogs from the plate.
Reed Marcum is a 6’4” right-handed pitcher from Lindsey Wilson College. A native of London, Kentucky, Marcum will be making his debut for the Muckdogs this summer. In 23.1 innings pitched, Marcum has a 6.17 earned run average, but has totaled 23 strikeouts and has held hitters to a .214 batting average against him. With high strikeout numbers and a low opposing batting average, Marcum looks to be a force for the Muckdogs.
Sean Mindas is a 5’10” outfielder from Keystone College. A native of Toms River, New Jersey, it’ll be Mindas’ first season in Batavia. In two seasons at Keystone, Mindas has a .263 batting average with 10 hits, 9 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in.
Troy (or commonly known as “TJ”) Morris is a 6’ outfielder from Salisbury University. A native of Millsboro, Delaware, he enters his first season with the Muckdogs. While only having 5 at-bats at Salisbury, Morris has tallied 1 2-RBI double, and came around to score himself later on. He is looking to add to the offense of Batavia this season.
Shaun Pope is a 6’1” left-handed outfielder from Hendrix College. A native of Beaumont, California, Pope is entering his first season with the Muckdogs. In 80 total at-bats in two seasons at Hendrix, Pope has 16 hits, posting a .200 batting average. He has been a major run scoring hitter for Hendrix as he has 16 runs batted in, and 22 runs scored.
